Health Education

About the attitude of the doctors, physicians, surgeons and specialists or hospitals’ crew the public opinion is adverse rather aggressive. The people always complain about their work and struggles they input for their patients. In this most Teams were formed and sent to the rural areas for determining the opinion of the public about the Health Care Facilities and needs provided in the villages. One of the surveyors’ impressions, experiences, tips to improve strategy, planning, commissioning institutions, and providing medical treatment through the Health Care Centers are written up as follows:

He stated that at first the surveyors were afraid of going to the houses of the peoples. Similarly, the peoples were fearful or reluctant to send for them to their houses. In the beginning every body was perturbed. They faced difficulty while meeting few peoples. At first, there was a need to build up their confidence to talk to the people. However, he mustard up his courage and apprised the peoples of his work. The following tips were provided to the couples, especially, women:

- How to discover the pregnancy?
- Which sort of food should be taken during the pregnancy?
- Pregnant should go to the doctor for checkup.
- What does the doctor check up?
- Without doctor’s advice one should not apply any method.
- How to implement family planning?

The women adopted positive attitude. Now, the women waited for the members of the Health Care Team for getting training of their own interest. After getting training they were of the view that the Health Care Team had made them doctors. The confidence in Health Care Team had restored and they were no more reluctant or afraid of going to the homes of the peoples. Friendly relationship has been established. The patients had become friendly and they had started to learn and understand many ways through:

- Modules
- Posters
- Charts
- Leaflets
- Brochures, and
- Literature

By using the above tips, the surveyor was of the view that he had made his marketing campaign very successful amongst the community. He had made most women perfect in using the precautionary measures while they were pregnant. The community’s women sentiments had converted into tributes. They said that the campaigners had done a good service to the mankind. Prior to their training that had no information about the precautionary measures to save the lives of the patients in danger. They were of the view that prior to this nobody had ever come there to make them understand. Earlier they had a lot of complaints about the Health Care teams or crew working in the hospitals or clinics.

The women informed that in their area no health center was available which could deal with the ladies’ problems. The peoples relate to poor or mediocre classes. They were unable to afford special clinics expenses or pay heavy fees to the experts. Government hospitals were located at a far flung distance. Therefore, they were compelled to get midwives’ services which, most often caused causalities of the concerned patients or their children. In case of delivery or any other severe problem they used to go to hospital. The peoples, who are recovered in the hospital, refer others to go to the hospital for the sake of getting best services and medical treatment. They were of the view that better and free of cost medicines were provided from the hospital.

The community has proposed to:

- Construct a hospital for the community.
- Medical equipment and instruments should be provided.
- The transport fleet should include Ambulances
- The doctors should be qualified and the staff should be well disciplined.
- Provide cheaper treatment with good services.
- Provide medicines free of cost.
- Provide free consultation to the patients.
- Provide family planning advices.

The hospital’s crew should be responsible and not the careless. The careless attitude was harmful to the patients. One of the community women quoted an example that there was a woman who had twin babies. One was miscarried. Hospital’s crew did not handle the patient carefully. If they had checked up properly, it was possible to save her second baby. As a result, the women had to revert to a private clinic. After a painful treatment her cleansing could be made effective. Then she felt better. Otherwise, she might have expired.
